Today’s entry is less about a marketing lesson, and more about making you hungry enough to eat your stapler. YumSugar, a daily drool-inducing website, if there ever was one, recently posted a slideshow of the most iconic foods from each state.
Some choices aren’t surprising. Pennsylvania is represented by the Philly cheese steak (although the Pittsburgh pierogi crowd might disagree) and Massachusetts is the proud home of New England clam chowder (picture above, though we’re guessing a cup of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee was a close second). Other state foods are completely new to us (“hot brown” anyone?), and some are, well, less than exciting (we’re looking at you, Utah, and your wild and crazy Jell-O pretzel salad).
If you’ve got a few minutes, feel free to take a culinary tour of our great nation for yourself. But consider yourself warned: You don’t want to take that tour on an empty stomach.
MARKETING LESSON: As you view the slideshow, take a moment to consider your brand’s place in this culinary melting pot we call America.
