As any food and beverage marketer will tell you, consumers will do almost anything for free product. That’s not a bad thing. It’s actually a compliment that people will go to such self-deprecating lengths to get their hands on your goods. (Klondike Bar anyone?)
The makers of the ambitiously-named Fantastic Delites set up a vending machine in Australia that challenged Aussies to perform all sorts of tasks in exchange for a free box of the product. (We’re guessing it’s some sort of cookie or cracker that pairs well with Vegemite.)
The tasks started out relatively simple and gradually progressed into absurdity. What would some people do for a box of the goodies? See for yourself in the video above.
MARKETING LESSON: Never underestimate the power of free product. But remember: With great power, comes great responsibility (and fun).
