It’s every brand’s dream to be the center of attention, even if it’s just for one night during a gathering of 10 or 20 potential fans. That dream can come true thanks to a new service called House Party, which pairs consumers with brands to help people throw shindigs in their homes with the brand as the main attraction.
How it works is simple: Brands pay a fee to be listed as a potential party theme on the House Party website. House Party members then sign up to host their choice of party and, if chosen, receive a kit full of sponsored freebies (for the host and his/her guests) intended to be used at a get-together to promote a certain product. The goodies vary depending upon the party, but may include full-sized products, free samples, coupons, and party decorations.
Though food and beverage brands seem like a natural fit for a House Party, the service actually caters to a surprisingly diverse brand base, including baby items, household cleaners, TV shows, electronics, personal care items, and more. Current and past food and bev clients include Kraft, McDonald’s, Anheuser-Busch, Dole, and Chef Boyardee.

MARKETING LESSON: We’ve said it before, but marketing is all about bringing people and brands together, and this service does exactly that.
